Higher Pension Scheme: EPFO extends the deadline to upload information until December 31
According to a press release from the labor ministry, the three-month extension of the September 30 deadline for firms to upload wage details follows requests from employers and employers’ associations. As of September 29, 2023, 5.52 lakh Applications for Validation of Option / Joint Options were still pending with employers, according to the labor ministry. Now, numerous representations have been received from Employers and Employers’ Associations asking to extend the further time period for uploading wage details of applicant pensioners.
Employers now have until December 31, 2023, an additional three months, to input pay information regarding pension on increased incomes.

As many as 17.49 lakh applications from retirees and members for the validation of options and joint options were received up until July 11, 2023.
Launched on February 26, 2023, the facility was only intended to be used until May 3, 2023.
However, it added that taking into account the employee concerns, the deadline was extended to June 26, 2023, in order to provide eligible pensioners and members a full four months to file applications.
Further, a last window of 15 days was provided to help the qualifying pensioners and members with any problems.
The final period for workers to submit Applications for Validation of Options or Joint Options was therefore changed to July 11, 2023.
